About Us

Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church was organized and founded in 1880, in the Providence settlement near Mayflower, Arkansas.

According to our historical records, Rev. Lawrence Cornelius was the first Pastor of the church. In February of 1955, Rev. J. R. Raynor was called as pastor of the congregation.

As of 2013 our Pastor today is Rev. Artee Williams. The Pastor and members of Greater Pleasant Branch Church would love for you to come and visit with us. We are challenged by our Pastor to “Be the Difference that makes a differences”.– Matthews 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The Branch is a member of the Golden Rule District Missionary Baptist Association. Click here for additional contact information for other churches that are members of this district.
